Stories Archive: April 2008 fishing history
messages from GuppieHi Guys & Gals.
I don't know how much this report means, every year is different.

This is just a guide from last year.
Early April about the 5th we had a oil spill about 5 miles long if you all remember? which prob messed up the fishing a bit .
After April 5th the fishing at Island Beach did not really start till mid April.

Last year April 1st we had a ton of bunker 1/2 mile off shore
Are are some pictures taken last year from one of my members last year pictures taken March 28th fishing from the boat ar Chesapeake from one of our fellow members Hambone.

.

. April 24th 2008
Island Beach around 4 PM, We decided to check the inlet out, it was pretty quiet for a short time, many anglers just sitting hanging out chatting, as always one angler picked up his rod and through a buck tail with a yellow worm on the inlet side, Bang; with in minutes he hooked a bluefish about 5 lbs.
Before we can see lots of anglers started fishing ?? Ummm Does this tell you something, can’t catch a fish with out wetting your line, a few more blues were caught all in the same range about 4-6 lbs.
The Jetty again turned on with a few nice catches of Black fish, which I heard the black fishing was going good most of the morning and day.
April 27th 2008
black fishing has been at it’s best @ Island Beach State Park.

April 29 2008
The bluefish action from the surf had been awesome , the blues made an appearance on and off all day hitting 1 1/2 " white buck tails from the North Jetty, the Inlet and the surf, bluefish from 4-7 lbs.

April 30th 2008
Julia Poppys wife caught a 22” fluke from the surf yesterday on a clam ball, this baby was indeed released,

Good Luck To our Spring Fishing .

Stories Archive: rod holder thief in the pocket
messages from GuppieAnonymous writes: Friday night some clowns at the pocket stole two rod holders.
I found out next day somebody saw them.

Value was $60 bucks and in 26 years of fishing island beach never had seen anything like this.
These guys can leave them at grumpys, but if I see them before they are returned I will be filing a theft report on them at the police station and will put thier picture & truck license so all your readers know who the thieves of Island Beach are.

Anonymous

Anonymous, I wish you would leave your e-mail address, if some one saw these thiefs, did they get a lic palte Numberf or a Pass Number?
I will pass the word around, but I need more information, on what time,, what kind of truck you have.
Sorry you had this happen.
I think I can help you out , I know many anglers , We need to know what time this was as well.
Good Luck , Hope you find the sick thief.

Check this out, make a few copies from different towns you'll be riding through, keep this list in your car, a penny saved is a penny earned.

This is pretty nifty-
Just enter your zip code in the site below, and it tells you which gas stations have the cheapest prices (and the highest) on gas
in your zip code area. It's updated every evening. Just click on the link, OR insert link . You will see a map of your area! and then scroll down and you will get a listing of gas prices in your area with addresses and brands starting with the cheapest and going up.

Be a good neighbor and pass this along.....

For those who are new at salt water fishing, just a reminder, cleaning or filleting fish with a mininum size while at sea or on the beach is prohibited.
The size of the fillet must be the same size of the size limit.

Stories Archive: For Those Of You Who Don't Know, Please lets All Help David
 messages from Guppie

David and Sean Goldman

"Until you have a son of your own . . . you will never know the joy, the love beyond the feeling that resonates in the heart of a father as he looks upon his son. You will never know the sense of honor that makes a man want to be more than he is and to pass something good and hopeful into the hands of his son."

Kent Nerburn

On June 16, 2004 David Goldman said goodbye to his son, Sean, at Newark Airport. He didn't know it at the time but his wife, Bruna, was in the process of abducting Sean and taking him to Brazil with no intention of ever returning. In the United States, we call this kidnapping. In Brazil, they call it "the mother's wishes." For over four years David has been fighting relentlessly against the Brazilian judicial system to win back custody of Sean and bring him home to their house in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

David is fighting the battle of his life and has run up against very powerful and influential families that have done all they can to prevent him from being reunited with Sean. He has exhausted virtually every legal option available to him in both the US and Brazil at great cost emotionally and financially. After Bruna's sudden and tragic passing on August 22nd, we all assumed David would finally be able to see Sean and bring him home. Unfortunately, he is now in the midst of another custody battle, this time with Bruna's new husband.

It has been four long and painful years for David Goldman. David was and is by all accounts a caring and loving father; he does not deserve this treatment. It is cruel and unjust, an affront to human decency. Enough is enough: we need your help in making sure the Brazilian government does the right thing and sends Sean home to his father. BringSeanHome.org was formed by David's friends; our assistance and effort are solely focused on the goal of bringing Sean home. We hope that you will join us in this cause by writing, e-mailing or calling one or more of the people listed on the How to Help page.

We invite you to read an open letter from David detailing the abduction, the parties involved, and the most recent turn of events. David's Story, was forwarded to us from Brazil on September 20th.

BLOG ACTIVE: The Blog has been activated. It hasn't been customized yet but please feel free to post a Comment.

David was interviewed by Meredith Vieira of the Today Show on NBC on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. The write up of the interview "Dad battles for son taken to Brazil four years ago" is on the Today Show web site.

Stories Archive: Fin Whale Blubber washing in the Seaside Park area Today.
messages from GuppieI took this video from my sons camera from my camera, not so good but it will give you an idea of where and when this was at about 12:30 PM Sept 2,2008 by the Casino Fishing Pier in that area, I do not have the equipment to unload his camera.

Hi Guys & gals.
My son decided to go to the beach in Seaside by the board walk, he said the ocean is realy kicking up a high tide, He left only takng one short video which His wife yvonne will be e-mailing me later on this after noon, I watch the video only to see a big piece of whale blubber washed on the beach, the children said they almost threw up, the smell was terrible, they are now swimming in my pool.
I think this should have never got this far, I am making an issue out of this all because officials as the AAPP said new about this problem, one solution, hopefully next time they won't assume it'll wash out to sea, next time save the state money and barge it way out, lots of anglers and bathers were effected by this and who wants their little children to see this and smell these gasses it put out , anglers don't deserve this as well.
Why bury this smell on our clean beaches suppose to be, a high tide with a east wind will only expose it again, officials should be called and all remains should be disgarded in a dumbster.
Life Guards should not have to be the one's to bury this or touch this decomposed whale .DEP where are you guys ?.
What happened to help Keep NJ beaches clean,
