  Sunday 10-05 08 @ 9:30 AM Guppies Fishing Report
Guppies fishing reportHi Guys & Gals.
Yesterday I did get many calls that it was that the fishing was as slow as can be .

A few Black fish were caught on the north jetty.
Even the sea robing were not coroperating, a few fish in between were caught from Seaside Heights to the inlet @ Island Beach State Park.
I am glad I had a yard sale yesterday and today another one , speaking of my yard sale, today I am putting out two new casting nets 6', two fiber glass one piece custom made 11' rods with a diawa reel, a few other items, 100 lbs of bank sinkers, some boat rigs .
Today the reports so far has been the same just a quiet day.
All i all it was a gorgeous day to be on the beach, today is going to be the same.
If any one is interested my address is 2261 church road ,Toms River .
Today many anglers are out for the Governors tournament, hopefully good action will start.
Good Luck To All.
Guppie & Don.

PS if I hear of any update which I will, if they are possitive I will do an update, if you don;'t hear from me then I guess it'll just be another bum day .

Saturday 10-04-08 @ 9:25 AM Guppies Fishing Report
Guppies fishing reportHi Guys & Gals.
We all heard this you should have been here yesterday, or you got here just a little to late, well this happens all the time, no one person can be every where at all times, this is why we all must work together on sharing reports, we all like reading reports.

Just to tell you some sad calls tackle shops have been getting, Thursday a local tackle shop got a call that there was a bluefish blitz at Gillikins, not so, yesterday another tackle shop got a call there was a blitz in the pocket, it just happened that I called the tackle shop up to give him a report when he told me he got this call 5 minutes before I called, I laughed and said negative, it's a Hoax, I was there for 40 minutes and just left that area.
So What tackle shops are doing is passing on information as to what they heard, if you get a jerk that wants to rattle some traps with a bogus report, shame on that angler, it's not the tackle shops fault, that's why I always triple check my reports before reporting.

So far this morning I have received call from Lavallette to Gillikins no action, these fish have been feeding so good for 6 days they need a break, at times this will happen for a day or two, then all the sudden these fish get wild and start feeding again.

some of us just don't have the time to put in, in all honesty, that's the trick, try putting in your time, right place right time.
That's why I am doing reports, for the anglers who don't have the time and wished they did, some can;'t afford riding around spending lots of money on gas.
I want you all to know that I am here for you, I have never wrote a bogus report, my reports are as accurate as one can be.
I give area, spots we fish, what we saw and I try getting the reports out asap.

Just because you see a lot of fish caught, it's not a blitz, it's called steady action, good Action.

For those who never witnessed a blitz later on tonight I will post some video, a blitz is when you see bait boiling, the water is black with bait, fish busting water, bait beaching, bait all over the place, birds diving in this mess, at times you might even see small fish beaching , and lasting for a long while, this is a real blitz.
You might even see this happen for a few minutes, I still don't consider it a blitz, it;s just some fish chasing bait.
I have a few friends fishing this morning, and will indeed call me if any great action happens.
There has been decent black fish action on the north jetty, decent Striper action on the north jetty at night ( After Dark.
Yesterday I know of one angler who had a decent run with a good size striper on the tip of the north jetty about 5:30 PM,two anglers witnessed this as well as the anglers who hooked and lost the striper told me .
The Best Of Luck To All.
ASA I hear of any action I will update.

Friday 10-03-08 @ 12:15 PM Guppies Late Fishing Report.
Guppies fishing reportHi Guys & Gals.
Sorry for the late report, today was a big let down for many anglers fishing Island Beach State park.
Many anglers were out hoping for at least some bluefish, never mind striper action, it just did not happen.

I would say we fished the Park from 10:30 AM till after dark, only catching searobin after sea robins.
The ocean was clean, calm, holding with a 5 oz sinker.
No bait to be seen at Island Beach till about I might say 7:30, all the sudden a huge school of mullet came flying by, card shop, ryan, Joe don & I witnessed , no fish on them, Joe manage to throw over the mullet getting a half bucket one throw.

Just as Don was pulling his line in to get ready to give up and call it a day, a 26" striper took his clam, he manage to bring it in and release it.
We drove from gillikins out to area 23, drove back out at area 7 spoke to many anglers who all but three said they had a few stripers, I would say on the beach today maybe 6 stripers were caught.

It was just a washed out day today.
maybe tomorrow fishing might pick up, the school of mullet we saw was a pretty big school heading south, it would not surprise me if you have mullet in the pocket tomorrow.
9 1/2 hours on the beach today I did not see one bluefish or striper caught, if any thing happened I would say it was before and after dark.

Good Luck To All & Good Night.
Guppie

Hi Guys & Gals.
We got to the beach about 4 PM, a few anglers said not to waste your time , nothing was going on, as we entered Gillikins we picked a spot to fish, Cardshop, Don & I and another fellow anglers all met at the same area. No birds no signs of any bait or fish. We were soaking a few clams at the time, all the sudden Card shop pointed out in to the water, there we saw big blues just passing through quickly, All three anglers started plugging with a popper all caught bluefish from 13 lbs.
Don weighed his fish at Grumpys bait & Tackle, biggest bluefish was indeed 13 lbs, some one wanted two big blues , and was going to pick them up at the old Grumps other then that we release these big bluefish.
The ocean was calm and clean, it was not to cold out, just a medium west wind, holding with a 6 oz sinker.
I did see a few short Stripers caught north of us on plugs .
We did nothing with the stripers fishing this afternoon, just a few sea robins stealing our bait.
.
We also spotted a few adult bunker chopped in half floating in the ocean after the bluefish came through, No blitz by all means at all today, just a few big schools of bluefish went by quickly.

I hope this report is a good guide for all you anglers.
The Best Of Luck To All.
Guppie & Don

Guppies fishing reportIf I can ever get off the phone taking reports and away from this computer I'd go fishing.
Monster Bluesfish came in to the suds North of Gillikins and at gillikins a few minutes ago.
All fish were caught on poppers, swimmers and metal.
Hopefully we'll be able to get out soon as I wanted to two hours ago.

Hi Guys & Gals.
I had no intentions of posting this tournament for the simple reason, many many anglers who have spent lots of money all fluke season only to have to release their catch, We were all told that there was a shortage on fluke??
But commercial netters can keep fish 14 1/2 ",

Every year they give us a cut off day early, just in time for the big keeper fluke to start, and now just for the tournament your allowed to keep 8 fluke , only if your in the tournament, this should have been for all of NJ anglers along the shore line.

I spend many days at Island Beach State Park watching anglers after the cut off day hooking up with some nice big fatties and having to release them..
An now for the Governors tournament you can keep 8 as long as you pay to get in to the tournament?? something is wrong with the system.
Sounds like to me if every one joins the tournament every one cane keep 8 fluke Sunday, not a bad deal., just another money making deal for the great state of NJ.

I am happy for all the anglers who fish the tournament, at least some will be able to catch and keep their fluke catch, it still makes me wonder about all these regulations?

getting back to the fishing reports, many stripers are still being caught, most in the 27.9 " range, again most throw back with a few keppers.
The wind is blowing west at about 15-20, not bad the wind is behind you, make it easier to cast further out .
Clams seems to be your best bet for producing stripers, with this west wind it should halp your casting distance a lot.
For those who like to plug, this west wind will help as well.

Good Luck To All.

Guppie

I want you all to know , every thing I put on these reports are as accurate as one can be, I do my home work before I post on all issues.
